Corona virus (COVID-19) is an infectious disease, that has been first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province. That has been spread globally since now. This pandemic has been detected in about 216 countries and territories. It takes 2-14 days to appear symptoms, after someone exposure to the virus. Difficulty in breathing, cough, fever, loss of taste or smell, headache, aches of body or muscles, vomiting, diarrhea etc. are some symptoms of COVID-19. Via direct, indirect or close contact with infected people cause spread of COVID-19 between people. We all can do following things to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19.

Wear a mask

When physical distance from others cannot be ensured, wear a face mask indoors and outdoors. Face mask should not be fabric that make hard to breath. It is better that mask have two or three layers. Before you put your mask on, both before and after you take it off you have to clean your hands. Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth, chin. Should fit to the face with no gaps. 

Maintain at least 1-meter distance between each other.

When someone with the virus coughs or sneezes, the coronavirus is spread from person to person. So, people are at close contact have high risk. So, it is good to keep physical distancing between people.

Always wash your hands often with soap and water or keep a sanitizer.

Using a hand sanitizer based on alcohol or cleaning your hands with soap and water is very important these days. If you want to keep avoid from COVID-19 you must do this. Be sure to use and store it properly if you are using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. 

Limit social gathering

Public gatherings and social occasions increase the spread of COVID-19 virus. In most of the countries their government have decided to limit the number of people can attend to wedding, funerals etc. 

Avoid touching your face

According to a research done, it shows that people touch their faces average 23 times per hour. That means people frequently touch their faces, but this is an opportunity for coronavirus to entre to your body. Now we are deep into a pandemic, and you are probably conscious that we should all stop touching our faces, this is among the steps suggested to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

When coughing or sneezing you have to cover your mouth and nose.

When cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or upper sleeve or elbow. Immediately dump the used tissues in to a bin, then wash the hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Stay home if you feel unwell.

To minimize the chances of spreading the virus, stay home if you feel sick, even if the symptoms are mild, unless it is an emergency. Do not go to crowded places. If your symptoms are serious or you feel like you need urgent attention, make a call before you go to the health care provider. Over the phone, explain the symptoms.

Avoid from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.

Current evidence indicates that among smokers, spread of COVID-19 is high. Smoking impairs the function of the lungs, making it more difficult for the body to fight with COVID-19. If you quit smoking as soon as possible, it will help you to fight back against the COVID-19.
